Mr. Hussein Al Suhaily, Coordinator of the Humanitarian Action Localization Initiative in Yemen, met today with the regional representative of NEAR Network in the Middle East and North Africa Ms. Wejdan Jarrah in TYF’s regional office in Amman, Jordon. They discussed the course of the humanitarian action localization in Yemen, the steps that have been achieved, ways of facilitating the localization process and promoting the coordination mechanism between the Network and CSOs in Yemen.

At the meeting, Al Suhaily expressed his deep appreciation for the role of the Network in enabling local and national organizations to lead humanitarian action and improve their efficiency in responding to humanitarian and development challenges, and said,: “We want partnerships that are fair, dignified and genuinely accountable to donors, the public and affected communities.”

In turn, Wejdan Jarrah stressed the Network’s keenness to coordinate the action of CSOs in Yemen within institutional frameworks, and to develop its initiative, promote its role in the humanitarian and development field, and ensure that people are at the center of every response, while bridging the gap between the traditional assistance system and the communities it aims to serve.
