Aden: Coordinator of the Localization and Recovery Initiatives Discusses Promoting Local Organizations’ Partnership With the Ministry of Health

 

Today in Aden, Mr. Hussein Al Suhaily, Chairman of Tamdeen Youth Foundation, Coordinator of the National Economic Recovery Program, and Coordinator of the Humanitarian Action Localization Initiative in Yemen, discussed with the Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health and Population, Assistant to Health Planning and Development, Dr. Jalal Saeed Ba'oudha, and Director-General of the NGOs Department in the MoPH, Dr. Jalal Al Zauari, mechanisms of action and joint coordination between local organizations and the Ministry in order to improve the efficiency of humanitarian response and achieve the sustainable impact of health projects and programs.

 

 
At the meeting, Al Suhaily presented the Localization and Recovery Initiatives and their  scientific and realistic solutions to all health challenges.

 


He stressed that the two initiatives include an advanced vision for health sector recovery and medicine security by turning them into a comprehensive strategy and realistic operational programs.

 


He also pointed out to the keeness of CSOs to activate participatory planning with the MoPH, the private sector and donors to create the enabling environment necessary for the rehabilitation and recovery of the health sector, to review and organize humanitarian response programs, and to define roles, responsibilities and duties among all partners in order to achieve medicine security and comprehensive health care.

 


For his part, the UnderUnder-Secretary praised the role played by local organizations committed to procedures for implementing health projects and programs.

 


He stressed the need for interventions to the areas most in need, in accordance with the Ministry's plans and in order to avoid randomness and duplication.

 


The parties agreed to activate communication channels to come up with a common vision and a complete program of action on optimizing humanitarian response and recovery mechanisms, setting priorities, and promoting the effective partnership between local organizations and the Ministry.

 


The meeting was attended by Mr. Nashwan Al Qubati, TYF's Economic Empowerment Program Manager, and Ms. Bushra Abdullah, TYF's MEAL Officer.
