To combat disease vectors and promote environmental sanitation … A second clean-up campaign in Al Hawak district in Al Hudaydah.

With the support of the Humanitarian Pooled Fund in Yemen, and in partnership with Mozn Foundation for Social Development and the Hygiene and Improvement Fund in Al Hudaydah governorate, Tamdeen Youth Foundation (TYF) launched today (Thursday) a comprehensive clean-up campaign in Al Hawak district. The acting governor of the governorate, Mohammed Ayash, who participated in the campaign, appreciated the role of the foundation and its partners in protecting the population from the risks of environmental pollution. He emphasized the importance of the campaign in combating mosquitoes and viruses carrying dengue, cholera, malaria and communicable diseases. The campaign is accompanied by awareness-based and education sessions by the community health volunteers on sanitation and safe hygiene. The operation of cleaning the sewerage system, the removal of blockages and disposal of the sewage overflow also continues in Al Hawak district, in partnership with the local water and sewage foundation in the governorate.
It should be noted that this campaign is the second, where Tamdeen Youth Foundation, in partnership with Mozn Foundation for Social Development, implemented last month a clean-up campaign in Al Rabsah neighborhood in Al Hawak, during which it managed to lift 67 tons of garbage and solid waste
