Tamdeen Youth Foundation (TYF) lifts 72 tons of garbage from Al-Swaida market in Mawiyah district, Taiz
Tamdeen Youth Foundation (TYF) carried out a comprehensive clean-up campaign for Al-Swaida market in Mawiyah district, Taiz governorate and was able to lift 72 tons of garbage. The director general of the district, Abdul Jalil Sorour, who launched the campaign, praised the humanitarian work carried out by the Foundation and its intensive activities to confront the cholera epidemic and save people’s life despite all difficulties. This campaign is part of the positive interventions of the Emergency Integrated Health and Nutrition Assistance and WASH project implemented by the Foundation with the support of Humanitarian Pooled Fund (HPF) during the period from November 1, 2018 to 31 October 31, 2019. Moreover, water component teams in the project distributed hygiene kits to 182 families and chlorine tablets for purifying drinking water to 475 families as well as sterilization of drinking water sources in 34 water tanks. Also, Awareness sessions on prevention of cholera, water diarrhea and infectious diseases were carried out for 5028 families in Mawiyah.
