Tamdeen Youth Foundation (TYF) is launching its committees’ training on the new standards of WFP assistance in Yemen
The Office of Tamdeen Youth Foundation (TYF) in Taiz governorate held a special training workshop for the Food Aid Committee in Al-Misrakh district on Tuesday, during which the Committee was informed about the new mechanism of the World Food Program (WFP) to distribute aid in Yemen in cooperation with local partners and the new standards adopted by WFP to reach vulnerable groups suffering from food insecurity and malnutrition in order to achieve the strategy of the program in Yemen 2019- 2020 which aimed at saving Yemenis from famine, and put an end to malnutrition, especially in pregnant women, lactating mothers and children under the age of five. The workshop also included informing the Food Aid Committee on its tasks during the coming period to be ready for the new survey of the vulnerable groups which requires distribution of tasks and formation of committees at the level of villages and sub-districts to register the targeted in the district estimated to 14 thousand and 493 families according to the new standards of the World Food Program WFP: (families suffering from acute malnutrition, child-headed families, widowed-headed families, families living in public camps, displaced families living with parents and relatives, families from economically marginalized groups “marginalized”, families without sources of income and lack of daily income, families with special needs and families headed by the elderly). Finally, it should be noted that Tamdeen Youth Foundation implements current projects in the field of food security and treatment of malnutrition in more than one governorate.
