Tamdeen Youth Discusses Social Fund for Development’s Cooperation with Civil Society Organizations

Today, in Sana'a, Mr. Hussien Al Suhaily, Chairman of Tamdeen Youth Foundation, and Coordinator of the Humanitarian Action Localization and Economic Recovery Initiatives, met with Coordinator of Units and Branches - Head of Training and Institutional Support Unit of the Social Fund for Development, Mr. Saleh Saghir Al Razehi, to introduce the Fund to programs and various activities of Tamdeen Youth Foundation.

Al Suhaily said that the SFD is one of Yemen's most effective national institutions, and praised its strength and cohesion, calling for promoting its partnership with the civil society sector.

"Coordination and cooperation will serve people in many areas and reduce duplication of project implementation", he said.

Al Suhaily also reviewed with the SFD the Economic Recovery Initiative, launched by Tamdeen earlier this year.

Al Razehi, in turn, said that the SFD has been the largest supporter of CSOs since its establishment. However, he believes that this sector needs much development based on the study and assessment of institutional building.

"Everyone should join forces to establish a training academy to build the capacity of civil society organizations and evaluate their performance, helping to institutionally develop these organizations and ensure the transparency and efficiency of their work to engage in local development and recovery activities.

The meeting was attended by TYF's Advocacy Officer, Mr. Ammar Al Ashwal, and SFD's "Rawafed" Youth Program Officer, Mr. Ramzi Al Sheikh.
