Tamdeen Youth Foundation Organizes Induction Workshop for Women
With the support of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Tamdeen Youth Foundation organized the induction workshop for the Women's Economic Empowerment Project in Yemen (Phase 1).
At the workshop held in Aden with the participation of 20 representatives of the relevant government agencies, the objectives of the project, targeting (Al Mansoura, Sheikh Othman and Dar Saad), were reviewed, and are based on enhancing employment opportunities for poor and marginalized women by empowering them with vocational training and basic business skills, especially in the field of small and microenterprises, and promoting their participation in economic processes.
At the beginning of the workshop, Aden's Provincial Undersecretary for Youth Affairs Abdul Rauf Zain Al Saqqaf pointed out the importance of this project, which contributes to the development of women's skills and economic empowerment, stressing the local authority's support for such projects that serve the community.
Executive Director of the Skills Development Fund, Dr. Abdullah Daghm Mohammed, praised TYF's efforts in implementing projects and programs aimed at empowering youth and women. He expressed the Fund's willingness to support all efforts aimed at promoting and building the skills of the unemployed to contribute to alleviating unemployment and poverty, qualifying them and preparing them for the labor market as required, and working together with local and international stakeholders and organizations to achieve economic integration to improve society economically, socially and developmentally.
For his part, Tamdeen Youth Foundation's Director, Mr. Nashwan Al Qubati said that TYF has an integrated project aimed at promoting women's employment opportunities and their economic empowerment through the implementation of training and rehabilitation programs in many professional and economic fields at different phases that contribute to the provision of appropriate work and improve their economic situation. He stressed the need for joint cooperation with all stakeholders that will help develop the construction and development process and meet the requirements of the labor market.
The opening was attended by the Representative of the German Agency, Mohammed Al Owaini, Director General of the Office of the Social Welfare Fund in Aden, Mr. Majid Al Shajri, Liaison Director of the Skills Development Fund, Eng. Adel Nasr Al Ariqi, Deputy Director of Training and Rehabilitation at the Fund, Ms. Aswan Abdullah Jaafar.
On the margins of the workshop, the Skills Development Fund's Director-General, Dr. Abdullah Daghm Mohammed, handed Mr. Nashwan Al Qubati, TYF's Director, a tribute shield in recognition of TYF's activity in community development.
