Agreement between TYF and SDF for Empowering Women and Girls Economically
Today in Aden, an agreement was signed between Tamdeen Youth Foundation, represented by its Director, Mr. Nashwan Al Qubati, and the Skills Development Fund, represented its Executive Director, Dr. Abdullah Dagham. The agreement includes training 100 women in e-marketing and mobile maintenance, as well as building capacities and developing skills in women's economic empowerment.
The agreement is part of the strategic partnership between the Foundation and the Fund to integrate in enabling young men and women to acquire professional, technical and craft skills, and promote their entrepreneurial culture to improve their livelihood opportunities and productive participation in economic recovery and reconstruction projects and activities.
After the signing, Al Qubati called on the government, the private sector and donors to support economic empowerment programs and invest in human capital to provide the country with qualified cadres and skilled hands in all disciplines in order to meet the needs of the current phase and find local and sustainable solutions to socioeconomic challenges.
"Women's economic empowerment is critical to stability, early recovery, and sustainable development".
For his part, SDF's Director praised the level of active partnership with Tamdeen Youth Foundation. He also emphasized the integration with civil society organizations and the private sector in the field of youth and women's empowerment, and linking the Fund's work to recovery plans and local labour market needs.
The signing was attended by Mr. Ahmed Al Suwaidi, TYF's Economic Empowerment Officer, Eng. Adel Al Ariqi, SDF's Liaison Director, Mr. Radwan Al Shaabi, SDF's Training Director, and Eng. Saber Ahmed, Member of the Relief in Al Dhalea Governorate.
