Under the "Women's Economic Empowerment" project, funded by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Tamdeen Youth Foundation organized a special workshop on (Digital Finance for Small Enterprises).

In the workshop, attended by representatives of microfinance institutions and banks, and experts and specialists in digital transformation, Mr. Nashwan Al Qubati, TYF's Director, presented the realities of microfinance and the opportunities and challenges to shift towards digital finance for these projects.

In the workshop, Al Qubati explained that digital finance will contribute to expanding the services of microfinance institutions to empower vulnerable groups and enhance access to them. It will also facilitate the use of digital tools for income generation and entrepreneurship.

Although the indicators of digital transformation in Yemen are weak, TYF's Director stressed that the population structure is predominantly youth, which is a huge opportunity in this digital age, and therefore the public and private sectors, humanitarian and development partners, and microfinance institutions must make digitally enabled socioeconomic development a high priority for innovative, inclusive and sustainable growth.

The workshop participants concluded with consensus on the importance of accelerating socioeconomic development through digital transformation, and adopting an innovative approach based on "Digital Financial Inclusion" by directing and organizing the efforts of all relevant entities towards digitization to address emerging challenges, and expanding opportunities to include the most vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.
