Tamdeen Youth Organizes Marketing Exhibition for the Products of Women’s Economic Empowerment Project’s Beneficiaries in Aden
Today in Aden, Tamdeen Youth Foundation organized the "Marketing Exhibition for the Products of the Women's Economic Empowerment Project's Beneficiaries", which was implemented by TYF in partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and with funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
In the opening ceremony, which was attended by the Undersecretary of Aden Governorate, Mr. Abdul Raouf Al Saqqaf, Director General of Organizations at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, Mr. Zuhair Hamed, Director General of the Skills Development Fund, Dr. Abdullah Daghem, Director General of the Social Fund for Development, Eng. Fouad Taher, Representative and Consultant of the Private Sector Project and Employment Opportunities - GIZ Aden, Mr. Elias Khan, Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Mohammed Al Mihdhar, Advisor to the Minister of Health, Dr. Mahmoud Al Abd, Advisor to the Minister of Transport, Mr. Ali Mahrouq, and a large group of citizens, the Undersecretary of the Governorate praised the role played by Tamdeen Youth Foundation in supporting women and youth and implementing projects with a sustainable impact. He emphasized the local authority leadership's support for such projects that create job opportunities and productive families.
Everyone got acquainted with the corners of the exhibition, which included handicraft products, incense and perfume industry, accessories, pastries, cosmetics, sewing and embroidery, phone maintenance, photography, and wedding and event coordination."
They expressed their admiration for the products they saw that could reflect the creativity of the trainees, and their abilities to produce and establish their own enterprises.
Mr. Nashwan Al Qubati, Director of Tamdeen Youth Foundation, thanked the government agencies, the private sector and the German Agency for their active role in the success of the project, and for their continuous support.
He also honored and gifted memorial shields to Aden Governorate Office, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, the Skills Development Fund, and the German Agency.
Al Qubati explained that Tamdeen is currently preparing to launch the Digital Financing Program, which initially targets at least 6,000 young men and women during 2023 in many governorates, with an innovative and qualitative methodology in the fields of economic empowerment, apprenticeships, lending and savings groups.
He called upon all humanitarian and development partners to exert utmost efforts and joint coordination in implementing interventions that have a sustainable impact on communities' lives.
For his part, Mr. Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Officer of the Women's Economic Empowerment Project, explained that this exhibition is the culmination of an integrated program for women and girls who show their products today. The program included training and rehabilitation on life and professional skills, establishment of SMEs and business management, and practical applications in the fields of phone programming, pastry and confectionery industry, incense and perfume industry, sewing, hairdressing, beauty, accessories, wedding and event coordination, photography, and graphic design.
Professional assets and tools were then handed over to the beneficiaries to start their own projects and empower them economically.
The exhibition received a great turnout from citizens, and the beneficiaries' products and services were directly marketed.
