Training of 50 Members of Water Users Associations on Sustainable Management Practices in Abyan Governorate
As part of the Resilience Project in the Agriculture and Irrigation Sector, Tamdeen Youth Foundation concluded today two training workshops in sustainable water resources management in Abyan Governorate. The workshops aimed to strengthen the capacity of 50 members of water user associations in sustainable management practices in Khanfir and Zanjibar districts.
Director of Tamdeen Youth Foundation, Mr. Nashwan Al Qubati, who honored the participants, stressed TYF's and its partners' keenness to ensure community participation in water management, development and protection, focusing on community participation in infrastructure development, raising awareness of water users and building their cognitive capabilities.
For his part, the Director General of the Agriculture and Irrigation Office in Abyan Governorate, Eng. Yasser Al Hasani, praised the development interventions provided by Tamdeen Youth Foundation to enhance water resources in the governorate.
He stressed the importance of benefiting from the outputs of the training in developing the associations' work, and contributing to the preservation of water resources and reducing their depletion.
