Members of Localization Initiative in Yemen Discuss Progress Report and Priorities for the Next Phase
Members of the Civil Society Organizations' Initiative for the Localization and Optimization of Response Mechanisms in Yemen held the first annual meeting for 2023, in the presence of the majority of members and with the participation of Ms. Eman Ismail, ICVA MENA Regional Representative.
In the meeting, the achievements of the Localization team during 2022 were presented in the areas of networking and coordination at the national and international levels, the development of tools for measuring localization indicators and data collection, and the completion of the Baseline Report for the Localization Performance Indicators in Yemen with technical support of the International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA) and the Humanitarian Action Group (HAG).
Members of the initiative also reviewed the steps achieved in formulating a national humanitarian response strategy in Yemen, as well as the overall framework of the advocacy strategy and strengthening the role of local organizations.
After extensive discussion, members agreed to prioritize collective action over the coming period, and move forward with a increasing determination and a clear vision to create a more efficient and locally-led humanitarian response model.
