Maintenance and Upgrades of Shelter for 312 Displaced Families in Tuban District, Lahj Governorate
With the prolonged conflict in Yemen, most IDPs' tents at temporary hosting sites have become ravaged by rain, wind and sun.
Tamdeen Youth Foundation, through the "Provision of Shelter Maintenance/Upgrades Project in Tuban District, Lahj Governorate", funded by Yemen Humanitarian Fund YHF, and in coordination with the Executive Unit for the Management of IDPs Camps in Lahj, is assisting displaced families in 6 temporary hosting sites in Tuban District, namely "Al Garad Camp, Rebat Camp, IDP Gatherings in the Fifth District, Dar Al Arais in Al Anad, Al Baytara Village, and Sad Falej", to improve living conditions through maintenance and upgrade of shelter.
The project team is keen to provide the most sustainable shelter solutions for displaced families, which include maintenance and upgrade work for ravaged tents, provision of rain and wind resistant materials, improving thermal insulation, and ensuring good ventilation, in order to achieve safety, and protection for these families and preserve their privacy and human dignity.
