Tamdeen Youth Foundation Launches the Training of Craftsmen in Al Maqatirah in Lahij Governorate

Tamdeen Youth Foundation launched a training course program for 70 craftsmen and craftswomen in Al Maqtirah district, #Lahij Governorate, in accordance with the apprenticeship methodology and occupational safety rules to qualify #youth for the skilled labor market, and improve their access to sustainable sources of income.

This program is part of "Promoting the Recovery and Resilience of Youth Project" implemented by Tamdeen Youth Foundation TYF, with funding from Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.

It includes seven main craft areas: "sewing and tailoring - beauty and hairdressing - beekeeping and honey production - maintenance and installation of solar energy systems - vehicle mechanics - automotive electricity - soldering".

Eng. Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Project Officer, explained that the 8-day training program will gain craftsmen and craftswomen the skills and knowledge to transfer training to trainees in the workplace "workshops". It will also build their capacity to deal with trainees through the use of scientific methods in training and evaluating trainees in the real work environment according to the mechanisms and models prepared for this, as well as improve and raise awareness of occupational safety and tools to prevent risks to which they may be exposed.
