Tamdeen Youth Foundation Launches Training of Craftsmen in Al Ma’afer District, Taiz Governorate

Tamdeen Youth Foundation launched a training course program for 70 craftsmen and craftswomen in Al Ma'afer District, Taiz Governorate, according to #Apprenticeship and occupational safety standards to qualify youth for the skilled labor market, and improve their access to sustainable sources of income.

 

This program is part of "Promoting the Recovery and Resilience of Youth Project", implemented by Tamdeen Youth Foundation #TYF, and funded by Hilton N. Conrad Foundation.

 

It includes eight main craft fields: "sewing and tailoring, women's beauty and hairdressing, beekeeping and honey production, maintenance and installation of solar energy systems, vehicle mechanics, automotive electricity, welding and phone maintenance."

 

The launch was attended by Mr. Adel Al Mushamer, General Manager of Al Ma'afer District, Dr. Ibrahim Al Musalami, Director of TYF, Taiz, and Mr. Essam Dubaiz, Manager of Al Sanah Technical Institute.

 

"The training program will last for 8 days and will provide craftsmen and craftswomen with the skills and knowledge that enable them to transfer training to trainees in the workplace "workshops", as well as building their capacity in dealing with trainees through the use of scientific methods in training and evaluating trainees in the real work environment according to the mechanisms and models prepared for this, in addition to improving and raising awareness of occupational safety and tools to prevent risks that they may be exposed to." Al Musalami explained.

 

He stressed the importance of vocational training for young men and women in providing them with experiences that help them integrate into the labor market by integrating youth in vocational and craft workshops to provide them with experience in these occupations.
