Dhamarak Platform Opens New Horizons for Empowering Youth and Women to Finance Their Small Businesses

Today, Tamdeen Youth Foundation launched a training workshop in Aden to empower 28 credit consultants and specialists in Al Qasimi Islamic Bank to use "Dhamarak" platform. This is in preparation for empowering 750 young men and women in Lawdar and Ahwar districts in Abyan governorate, and Al Ma'afer district in Taiz governorate, to obtain financing for their small businesses through "Dhamarak" platform.

This workshop is part of "Supporting Resilient Livelihoods, Food Security, and Climate Adaptation in Yemen, Joint Programme, ERRYJP3, which has trained and built the capacities of these young men and women in the three districts to establish and manage SMEs through "My First Business" and "I Own a Small Business" according to the International Labor Organization (ILO) Methodology.

Eng. Majed Saeed, Financial Technology Expert, explained that the workshop includes theoretical and practical training on various features of "Dhamarak" platform, including: creating customer accounts, submitting loan applications, reviewing and approving them, as well as disbursing and repaying them.

For his part, Director of Tamdeen Youth Foundation, Mr. Nashwan Al Qubati, said that "Dhamarak" is an electronic platform that aims to empower youth, entrepreneurs, productive households, and owners of SMEs to access microfinance services.

He confirmed that this platform allows beneficiaries to learn about microfinance services from owners of SMEs, and enables them to choose the services and products that suit their businesses and apply for appropriate financing through the platform without the need to move to the headquarters of service providers, which saves a lot of time and effort. The platform also provides microfinance service providers with a new and free channel for marketing and displaying their products and services.

Shadi Al Munaifi, Deputy CEO of Al Qasimi Bank, said; "We value our partnership with Tamdeen Youth Foundation." We, at Al Qasimi Bank, are committed to supporting entrepreneurs and SME owners by providing the best financial services.
