Al Suhaily Discusses Yemeni Youth Issues with the United Nations

New York

Mr. Hussein Al Suhaily, Founder of Tamdeen Youth Foundation, met with Mr. Felipe Boullie, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for Youth, in his office in New York, with whom he discussed Yemeni youth issues, and mechanisms to enhance their meaningful, inclusive and effective participation across the United Nations system.

During the meeting, Al Suhaily reviewed the challenges facing youth in Yemen, which include ongoing conflict, poverty, unemployment, and lack of education and healthcare opportunities. He also pointed to the impact of these challenges on the future of Yemeni youth, and the need for urgent solutions to empower them to participate in building a better future for their country.

The meeting also discussed ways for Yemeni youth to participate in the upcoming ECOSOC Youth Forum to be held next April at the United Nations. This forum provides a valuable opportunity for them to express their views and suggestions on issues of concern to them, and contribute to finding solutions to the challenges facing them.

Boullie expressed the UN's commitment to supporting the participation of Yemeni youth and affirmed cooperation with Yemeni civil society organizations to provide them with opportunities to participate in various aspects of political, economic and social life.

This meeting is an important step by Tamdeen Youth Foundation to shed light on the issues of Yemeni youth, and call on the international community to make further efforts to support them.
