Tamdeen Youth Foundation Hands Over 250 Young Men and Women in Al Ma’afer, Taiz, the Necessary Assets to Establish Their SMEs
Tamdeen Youth Foundation handed over 250 young men and women in Al Ma'afer District, Taiz Governorate, the necessary assets to establish their small enterprises and obtain sustainable sources of income.

This activity is part of: "Supporting Resilient Livelihoods, Food Security, and Climate Adaptation in Yemen, Joint Programme, #ERRYJP3, implemented by Tamdeen Youth in Al Ma'afer District, Taiz Governorate, and in Lawdar and Ahwar Districts, Abyan Governorate, with funding from the European Union and the Government of Sweden, and in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Training and Preparation to Start Work:
Young men and women benefiting from the program received intensive training in entrepreneurship and financial literacy, according to the International Labour Organization (ILO) methodologies "My First Business" and "I Own a Small Business".
Diversity of Enterprises Enhances Employment Opportunities
Projects financed by ERRY3JP, and the delivery of their assets through Al Qasimi Islamic Bank, the implementing financial partner, have varied to include:
- Retail Trade
- Coffee & Vegetable Farms
- Greenhouses
- Service Shops
- Beekeeping and Livestock
Towards Entrepreneurship
Eng. Mutlaq Gharsan, Project Manager, stressed that the program not only aims to help youth establish and maintain their own businesses, but also seeks to drive them towards a new culture of entrepreneurship in their communities.
