Local Authorities in Taiz Receive 6 New Classrooms at Al-Khair Educational Complex

The local authorities in Taiz Governorate today received 6 new classrooms with their annexes at Al-Khair Educational Complex in Hadhran isolation, Al-Ta'iziyah district. These classrooms were built with funding from the European Union, through the Institutional and Economic Resilience in Yemen (SIERY) project of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and implemented by Tamdeen Youth Foundation (TYF).

The annexes included the construction of 4 separate sanitary facilities for males, females, and people with special needs, the provision of 108 double student desks, the completion of the school fence and the construction of a new gate, and a water tank to meet the needs of the students.

Thanks to these new classrooms and facilities, the capacity of Al-Khair Complex will increase, enabling it to provide good educational opportunities for more than 2,600 students (boys and girls) in the morning and evening shifts. The project will also contribute to improving infrastructure, reducing the educational gap between genders, while taking into account the services for people with special needs.

Thanks to the European Union  for supporting the local authorities in Yemen to develop and implement flexible and sustainable solutions.
