Tamdeen Youth Foundation and Oxfam Provide Cash Assistance to Improve the Livelihoods of the Most Needy Families in Ibb

In the context of responding to the escalating humanitarian challenges facing Yemen, and amid the lack of income sources and the sharp rise in the prices of basic commodities, the Tamdeen Youth Foundation (TYF), in partnership with Oxfam, provided Unconditional Cash Transfers (UCTs) (Third Cycle) to 178 households from the most impoverished and vulnerable categories in the districts of Al-Sabrah and Dhi As-Sufal in Ibb Governorate. This assistance was disbursed through Al-Kuraimi Islamic Bank.

The assistance was distributed to eligible families as follows:

  • 83 beneficiaries in Zubaid Sub-district (Azlah) in Al-Sabrah District.
  • 95 beneficiaries in Khunwah and Wadi Dhaba Sub-districts (Azlatain) in Dhi As-Sufal District.
  •

These cash transfers are of vital importance, as they provide the beneficiary households with flexibility to meet their most urgent basic needs. This includes ensuring food security, obtaining essential healthcare, and covering education expenses for their children, thereby contributing to the mitigation of the severe humanitarian crisis.

The assistance is also part of six cycles being implemented under the " Building Resilience Through Integrated Community-Based & Humanitarian Systems Transformation and Leadership in Yemen" project, which aims to support the most affected communities and enhance their resilience in the face of the ongoing crisis.
