In Marib, Teachers Trained on the Integrated Accelerated Education and Learning Recovery Package
In coordination with the Literacy and Adult Education Authority in Marib Governorate, Tamdeen Youth Foundation (TYF) conducted specialized training for 26 female teachers and educators working in the Accelerated Education Programme. The training aimed to strengthen their educational and teaching skills and enhance their ability to respond effectively to the needs of displaced and out-of-school children.
The four-day training was held from 17 to 20 August 2026 under the supervision of the Literacy and Adult Education Authority in Marib. It focused on the Integrated Accelerated Education and Learning Recovery Package.
The training was organized as part of the activities of the Accelerated Education Programme, supported by Education Cannot Wait (ECW), under the Emergency Response to Displacement and Climate-Related Crises project. The project seeks to support children whose access to formal education has been disrupted by crises, displacement and prolonged learning gaps.
The training covered a range of skills and knowledge designed to help teachers understand the educational and psychosocial challenges faced by children affected by displacement and crises. It also introduced appropriate teaching methods to help children recover missed learning and reintegrate into the education system within a shorter period.
The participating teachers work with children targeted by the Accelerated Education Programme, which benefited 271 children during its first phase and 320 children during its second phase. The programme contributes to providing educational opportunities for children who have dropped out of school and helping them bridge their learning gaps.
Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Ali, Director of the Tamdeen Youth Foundation office in Marib Governorate, emphasized that investing in teacher training is a key component of efforts to improve the quality of accelerated education. He noted that teachers are the direct link in providing educational support to children affected by displacement and crises and in helping them resume their educational journey.
