Tamdeen Youth Foundation Represents Yemeni Organizations at the Tenth Annual Grand Bargain Meeting in Geneva
Geneva – October 2026
As part of international efforts to develop the humanitarian system and strengthen the role of local actors in leading the response, Tamdeen Youth Foundation (TYF) actively participated in the 2026 Annual Grand Bargain Meeting, held in Geneva, Switzerland, on October 19 and 20, with the participation of representatives from donors, United Nations agencies, humanitarian organizations, and National Reference Groups from around the world.
This year’s meeting coincided with the tenth anniversary of the launch of the Grand Bargain and witnessed the launch of the Collective Action Platform for the Grand Bargain (CAP4GB), which aims to strengthen collective action and translate commitments to humanitarian reform into practical measures at the country level.
Tamdeen Youth Foundation represented Yemeni civil society organizations and frontline humanitarian responders in its capacity as the host organization of the Yemen Localisation Initiative and the Yemen National Reference Group (NRG). The Foundation contributed to high-level discussions on the future of humanitarian reform, the importance of strengthening local leadership, and expanding the meaningful participation of national organizations in shaping policies and decisions that influence the humanitarian response.
During the Sherpas Group sessions, which extended over one and a half days, the Foundation participated in facilitating discussions within working groups and reported on the outcomes of several discussions in its capacity as a rapporteur. It highlighted the need to move from announced commitments to tangible changes in funding, governance, and accountability mechanisms, ensuring a more equitable role for local actors in setting priorities, managing risks, and contributing to decision-making.
