A Public festival to raise awareness on environmental pollution risks

Tamdeen Youth Foundation (TYF), on this Tuesday, organized a public awareness festival on the occasion of World Environment Day under the slogan “Conservation of the environment Save life” . The festival was hosted by Al Mawasit district in Taiz city and included artistic shows, interactive theater shows and competitions. The General Director of Al Mawasit district / Ameen Sharaf delivered a speech praising the contributions of   Temden Foundation and its international partner (Care) to alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and supporting local communities to overcome their consequences, as well as their effective role in confronting cholera epidemic by implementing clean-up campaigns and enabling people to get access to safe water.

For his part, the Director of Tamdeen Youth Foundation office in Taiz city  Dr. Ibrahim Al-Muslimy praised the cooperation of the local authority with the projects and activities of the foundation. He commended the interaction of the population in the district and their participation with the foundation and its partners in the implementation of campaigns and voluntary activities in order to preserve their environment which reflected their civic awareness and cultural behavior. Al-Muslaimy also confirmed about the strategic partnership with CARE International in the humanitarian work.

The festival comes within the activities of the ECCHOIII project, whose official Engineer / Ahmed Al Beheiry explained that : Tamdeen Foundation implemented it in partnership with Care to help displaced persons and host communities in the fields of health and environment In ( Jabal Habashy, Al Ma’afer, Al Mawasit, Sama, As Silw and Al Wazi’iyah) districts in Taiz city. Care participated in the festival by the ECHOIII project official Dr. Sarah Al-Mamari , and Abdul Aziz Al Qadi, , and Hisham Al Sherjabi, as field officials for the project.

The festival was also attended by the Secretary General of the Local Council of Al Mawasit district (Abdallah Abdurrahman), the Director of Education/ Abdulhafeez Al-Munaifi, the Director of Community Participation/ Abdulkareem Al-Warth, the Director of the Media Office, Abdulwase’a Al-Yusufi, The Director of the Works Department and the member of the local council/ Qais Abdullah Mahyoub, the Deputy Director of Youth and Sports Office/ Ibrahim Sofian and the social figures in the district, and a large audience.
