Tamdeen Youth Foundation TYF provides drinking water by solar energy to more than 13000 people in Dhammar governorate

Solar energy provides an alternative source of access to clean drinking water and alleviates the suffering of communities in Yemen from the consequences of war and conflicts that left citizens with few options in light of the fuel crisis and the derailment of the public electricity grid. Tamdeen Youth Foundation TYF, in partnership with UNICEF, is about to provide clean and sustainable drinking water to 13,288 people in 3 communities in Dhammar governorate, after completing the construction of a 9-meter-high tower water tank with a capacity of 100 cubic meters in the area of Marsaba in Anas district, with the provision of a solar power system with a capacity of 27 kilowatts, and a 6,000-meter-long water supply network. This comes within the project of ( Emergency interventions in WASH and rehabilitation of health centers in Sana’a and Dhammar), which includes the rehabilitation of the water project in Qa’awan area, Jahran district, and the provision of a solar pumping system with a capacity of 23 kilowatts, as well as the rehabilitation of the water project in the Sablat Bani Bukhait hamlet in Al-Hadda district with the installation of a solar power system with a capacity of 45 kilowatts.
