Tamdeen Youth Foundation calls on private sector to prepare for reconstruction

Tamdeen Youth participated in the first Aden’s first Conference and Exhibition for Construction and Contracting, which concluded today and presented 24 working papers representing the relevant entities from the public and private sectors, and addressed the diagnosis of the current reality of the construction and contracting sector and the requirements of its development, and future visions of integration in the development and reconstruction of Yemen.

 

The conference was also accompanied by an exhibition of more than 30 companies and institutions that presented models of their products and achievements.


Tamdeen Youth Foundation, in its working paper on reconstruction and the readiness of local companies, called on the Yemeni private sector to prepare for the reconstruction phase, and to form an alliance between local contracting companies that will enable them to contribute actively to the implementation of big projects and compete with foreign companies in order to promote integration with the public sector to achieve recovery and social and economic equality to reduce the risk of renewed conflict, as well as to address the unemployment crisis by employing local cadres and workers.

 


The working paper also recommended the establishment of a database for the reconstruction projects and the development of an effective coordination mechanism between the public and private sector, civil society organizations and donors.
