As part of its initiative to localize humanitarian action and support peace efforts, TYF organized a meeting with the U.S envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, with 14 Yemeni youth organizations.
The virtual meeting on "ZOOM" took place on Wednesday, under the title "Youth and Peace.. Challenges and Recommendations to Support Their Role in Promoting Peace-building Efforts. "
TYF's chairman, Mr. Hussein Al-Suhaily, welcomed the U.S. envoy and thanked him for accepting the invitation of TYF to hold this meeting with Yemen's active youth organizations.
Lenderking exchanged views with active youth CSOs in Yemen, stressing the importance of Yemen's youth and addressing their concerns and priorities in the peace process.
The meeting reviewed a series of challenges, recommendations and questions, all of which focused on the importance of localizing humanitarian action, promoting peace efforts and supporting the efforts of U.S. and UN envoys to Yemen.
The meeting was attended by 14 Yemeni youth foundations along with TYF, and was facilitated by Researcher Ibrahim Jalal.
The youth organizations participating in the meeting were Tamdeen Youth Foundation, Life Makers' Meeting Place Organization, the All Girls Foundation for Development, Al-Aman Organization for Blind Women Care, Social Development Hodeidah Girls Foundation, Alf Ba Foundation, Waey Foundation, Generations Without Qat for Awareness and Development, Youth Without Borders Organization for Development, Volunteers Foundation, Hemat Shabab Foundatio, Sheba Youth Foundation for Development, Youth leadership Development Foundation, Civil Alliance for Peace.
TYF had invited the U.S. Envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, to meet with CSOs on the basis of its initiative to localize humanitarian action, promote peace efforts and support the efforts of U.S. and UN envoys.
