With funding from Jusoor Program, Tamdeen Youth Foundation has concluded the training of 50 members of local peace committees in Jabal Habashi District, Taiz. Participants were divided into three groups at intervals of five days per group.
This activity is part of a package of activities included in the project of "Community Frameworks for Peace", primarily capacity-building for 50 members of local peace committees on conflict management and sensitivity.
The second activity of the project is the implementation of a comprehensive conflict survey in the district. The third activity focuses on the implementation of local dialogues that contribute to addressing conflict issues. The fourth activity is the funding of community and service activities that contribute to addressing conflict-related issues in the targeted district.
It should be noted that local peace committees have been selected according to standards that ensure the involvement of different sectors in promoting community cohesion and local solutions to conflicts. These sectors are local authority, civil society, the private sector, activists (community - social media platforms) and community leaders.
Members of local peace committees are divided into 10 committees. Each committee consists of five members from different sectors to engage in local training, surveys and dialogues, and to implement community and service activities of a conflict nature.
