As part of its peace-building efforts... Tamdeen Youth Foundation succeeds in ending a dispute over the construction and expansion of Al Sho'aoob Road Bani Bukari, Taiz
As part of its efforts to promote #Peace-building, and within its implementation of the "Community Frameworks Make Peace" project in Jabal Habshi district, Taiz, Tamdeen Youth Foundation, with funding from #Jusoor Program, has held a dialogue session to discuss opinions regarding to the construction and expansion of Al Sho’aoob road, Bani Bukari – Medhafa. TYF has succeeded in addressing the problems that have occurred and resolving existing conflicts by convincing stakeholders to give priority to public interests over private interests, especially since this road connects one of the areas with the most presence for IDPs, benefiting approximately 15,000 people.
With the efforts of members of peace committees, community leaders, food committees in the Uzlah and the coordination of the project team to resolve this issue, the dialogue was successful.
TYF has agreed to provide the necessary support for the construction and expansion of the road, so that it can be connected to official roads.
Al Sho’aoob Road is a vital road that connects three villages (Al-Marateba, Bani Bukari, and Al-Sharajah) with one short line, and at a lower cost to reach Al-Bireen Main Market in Jabal Habashi district, which has health, educational, and commercial services, and the World Food Program’s food distribution center. This provides community with easy access to meet their needs and access to services.
TYF works to resolve conflicts, support important and vital projects in a certain proportion, while engaging members of society in making a symbolic contribution.
Earlier, Tamdeen Youth, represented by its Chairman, Mr. Hussein al-Suhaily, succeeded in reopening Al Samen and Al Saboon Road, which is linking Taiz and Al Hudaydah governorates, after being selected for this mission by the former UN envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh. TYF has also formed #Community_Peace_Committees in Taiz Governorate.
