Today, Mr. Hussien Al Suhaily, Coordinator of the Humanitarian Action Localization Initiative in Yemen, met with the Under-Secretary of the Social Affairs and Labor, Development Sector, Mr. Yahya Qarwash. They discussed the reality of the humanitarian response in Yemen and the efforts of local organizations to improve their mechanisms and promote their effectiveness to integrate with the efforts of the Government in order to direct grants, assistance and programs of UN and international organizations towards economic recovery and sustainable development. They also discussed how to localize the humanitarian action in accordance with the commitments of the (Grand Bargain) and the outcomes of the 2016 World Humanitarian Summit in order to meet the actual needs of communities and government development plans.

At the meeting, Qarwash confirmed the Ministry's support for the localization initiative and the provision of facilities to CSOs in Yemen as an active partner of the Government, thereby promoting their institutional building and enabling them to achieve their objectives in the service of citizens and the public interest, and reducing the development burden on the Government.

They have agreed to activate communication, coordinate and build bridges of trust between the two parties.
