Urgent humanitarian appeal for Yemen.....Hussein Al-Suhaili
In the name of our common humanity... For the sake of the millions of innocent people in Yemen who are suffering greatly as a result of the war, which is about to enter its eighth year, and has eaten everything and with the beginning of the new year, I appeal to the leaders of the whole world, the United Nations, the Security Council, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Arab League and all governments Which can influence the parties to the war in Yemen... Mobilize all your influence and use it now, to stop the war and bring peace, to save the Yemeni people and put an end to their suffering.
Intervention must be made immediately, not only at the level of humanitarian relief but also at the level of politics, diplomacy, and economics. Every hour, and every day that passes by, civilians are killed and wounded, dozens of families are forcibly displaced from their homes, villages, and cities, and many are deprived of their right to education, health, life, and decent living. Inaction with this situation is complicity in the crime. It is disgrace to the United Nations, the Security Council, the Human Rights Council, and the world that closes its eyes to the tragedies of an entire people.
Let us keep in mind one goal to work towards in our new year, and let peace and economic recovery be our top priority, and it will be our goal and guide, and the year 2022 will be the #Year_of_Peace_and_Economic_Recovery_in_Yemen.
I turn to all sides of this brutal war and say: Stop killing...Enough destruction. The bounties of the earth are enough for all of us, so why the killing? Why blood? Why war? Come to the life path together as brothers and sisters in this country who squandered its human and natural resources, and let us make our land a paradise of goodness, blessing, solidarity, cooperation, communication, and love.
The countries of the region should completely distance Yemen from their regional wars, and start designing and implementing a strategy for the reconstruction of what the war has destroyed in Yemen and build vital projects in all different sectors.
The Security Council should issue a resolution adopting the economic calm and instructing the UN envoy to return to economic negotiations immediately to reunite the Central Bank of Yemen, carry out real reforms in the revenue institutions, and mobilize the state’s public resources, especially the production and export of oil and gas, to restore the monetary cycle in the economy and pay salaries to all sectors Civil society in Yemen, as well as imposing sanctions on each party that obstructs ending the financial division of economic institutions in the country.
International financial institutions should ease isolation restrictions on Yemeni banks to connect to the global financial system to facilitate the import of basic materials and cut off the path of unofficial financial transfers.
The UN and international organizations must fulfill their pledges to the donor community and agree with local organizations on the localizing humanitarian action and improving humanitarian response mechanisms framework. Coordinating with government agencies to implement a development approach in all humanitarian action interventions to ensure the creation of job opportunities that reduce unemployment that afflicts the country and is considered fuel and a major driver of the ongoing conflict.
The (Arab coalition) should open all land and sea airports to Yemen, lift restrictions imposed on the entry and exit of basic commodities, stop deporting and tightening the screws on Yemeni workers in the Gulf labor market, as well as place a deposit in the central bank that helps stabilize the Yemeni currency.
The governments of Sana’a and Aden must fulfill their responsibilities in meeting the service and humanitarian needs of citizens; Take measures that enhance transparency and accountability to curb corruption and tampering with public money.
The private sector and businessmen must implement social responsibility and partnership with government agencies and civil society organizations to achieve sustainable economic development in the educational, health, social, economic, and environmental aspects, and to improve the quality of life of the workforce and their families, and as well as local communities and society in general. Stop accumulating wealth from the war economy and fabricating crises.
Every person of good conscience should join this call; to spare the blood, save Yemen, and stop this war in which trillions of money were wasted, the society and economy of the country were destroyed, no one wins and everyone in it loses, and there is no way to salvation except by returning to the dialogue table immediately and agreeing on principles Humanity and acceptance of pluralism, diversity, and coexistence... Either we live as brothers or we die stupid.
Let's make 2022 #Year_of_Peace_and_Economic_Recovery_in_Yemen.
Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace and goodwill among men.
