Tamdeen Youth Foundation Discusses the Partnership in Reviving Economic Growth With The Environment Protection Authority
Today in Aden, Mr. Nashwan Al Qubati, TYF's Economic Empowerment Program Manager, met the Chairman of the Environment Protection Authority, Eng. Faisal Al Thalabi, and discussed with him partnership mechanisms in the conservation of biodiversity and the sustainable use of natural resources.
In the meeting, Al Qubati explained that the environment in Yemen has deteriorated significantly in recent years, along with increasing climatic changes such as droughts and floods, which have put additional pressure on the natural resources and livelihoods of the population.
He stressed that economic recovery and sustainable development will be achieved only by protecting the environment, halting the degradation and depletion of natural resources, through the participation of civil society organizations, the private sector and government bodies in the preparation of a strategy and action plan for managing biodiversity and improving the efficiency of adaptation to climate change, which will be the real response to the economic recovery process.
For his part, the Chairman of the Authority expressed his admiration for TYF's efforts and initiatives, and its awareness of environmental problems and their impact on economic growth and resource sustainability.
He welcomed the partnership with the Foundation in training, rehabilitation and environmental awareness-raising, developing coordination mechanisms to enable NGOs, the private sector and local communities to participate in the planning and management of natural resources, and supporting the role of the Authority in implementing policies and action plans related to biodiversity and sustainable development.
This meeting was attended by the Authority's Director General of Planning and Information, Eng. Ameen Al Hamadi, its Director of Awareness and Media, Mr. Asma'a Al Agha, and by TYF's Liaison Officer, Dr. Nadin Abdulkadir, and its MEAL Officer, Ms. Bushra Abdullah.
