Tamdeen Youth Foundation Visits the Marine Environment Pollution Research Center in Aden and Calls on the Government to Activate Its Scientific Role

Today, Tamdeen Youth Foundation's team visited the Marine Environment Pollution Research Center in Aden, and discussed with its Director General Dr. Abdul Hakim Mohammed Saeed the vital role that the Center can play in the process of economic recovery through research, studies and scientific surveys of marine pollutants in Yemen's water, the identification of their causes, and suggestions of the necessary treatments and solutions, in order to preserve fisheries and marine life.

The team, which included the Economic Empowerment Program Manager, Mr. Nashwan Al Qubati, the Education Program Manager, Mr. Abdullah Obadi, the MEAL Officer, Ms. Bushra Abdullah, and the Productive Sector Advisor, Eng. Ahmed Saeed Al Wahsh, called for efforts to combat marine pollution, and the need for all to sense the importance of preserving the marine environment, and activating the role of the Center in this aspect, all of which should be at the top of the government's priorities.

They emphasized that in recent years, Yemen's water has been exposed to many environmental pollutants and disasters, which led to the death of large quantities of fish and marine life.

In turn, the Director General of the Center welcomed TYF's team, and its awareness of the importance of scientific research in economic development, noting the urgent need to rehabilitate and maintain the Center's building, to provide adequate support for the scientific studies and research, as well as to pay attention to the cadre of experience and competence to develop performance.

The Foundation and the Centre have agreed to cooperate in reducing marine pollution, advocating for environmental issues, building capacity, and sharing information.
