Tamdeen Youth Foundation Participates in the MENA Climate Week

Tamdeen Youth Foundation, represented by its founder, Mr. Hussein Al Suhaily, and its director, Mr. Nashwan Al Qubati, is participating in the "Middle East and North Africa Climate Week 2023". The MENACW began its work today in Riyadh under the title "Global Assessment", with the participation of policymakers, experts in relative fields, business enterprises, youth, and representatives of civil society organizations in the MENA and the world to share climate solutions and promote climate action in the region.

The Climate Week program reviews the regional progress in implementing Paris Agreement on climate change as part of the Global Assessment at the 28th Conference of the Parties COP28 to the UN Convention on Climate Change.

Mr. Hussein Al Suhaily explained that Tamdeen Youth Foundation's participation is to present the effects of climate change on Yemen, which has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis. There is therefore an urgent need to make these issues a priority, particularly at the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), and to present Yemen's issue to the international community. There  is also a need to involve donors in the issue of climate change and Yemen's fragile situation.

Mr. Nashwan Al Qubati, TYF's Director, stressed that helping Yemen mitigate the impact of climate change will not only contribute to national peace and stability, but also to regional security. It is a fact that Yemen's neighbors and potential supporters should keep in mind.

From Sunday to Thursday, participation will vary through high-level ministerial meetings, dialogues among CEOs, and many accompanying technical side events and workshops, as well as effective networking, interaction and partnership-building opportunities. It will also have an exhibition organized by KSA to review its efforts and initiatives as the host country, in cooperation with UNFCCC.
