Tamdeen Youth Foundation Launches Apprenticeship Training Program for 140 Young Men and Women in Al Ma’afer, Taiz
Today, Saturday, Dr. Ibrahim Al Musalami, Director of Tamdeen Youth Foundation,Taiz, together with Eng. Qaid As Selwi, Director Manager of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Office in Taiz, Mr. Mohammed Ali Farea, Secretary General of the Local Council of Al Ma'afer, launched a training program for 140 young men and women on apprenticeships.
This program is part of "Promoting the Recovery and Resilience of Youth Project", which is being implemented by Tamdeen Youth Foundation TYF, with funding from Hilton N. Conrad Foundation.
Mr. Tariq Mahyoub, Project Coordinator, said that this program will last for 14 days, and then the trainees will move to a practical training program in eight main vocational areas: sewing and tailoring, beauty and hairdressing, maintenance and installation of solar energy systems, vehicle mechanics, vehicle electricity, iron welding and telephone maintenance.
"Theoretical training will be carried out for 14 days, thereby moving to practical application and apprenticeship with 70 craftsmen and craftswomen previously trained.
For his part, Eng. Qaid As Selwi, Director Manager of Technical Education and Vocational Training Office in Taiz, stressed the importance of apprenticeship in providing youth with the necessary skills for the labor market, and enhancing their resilience in the face of socio-economic challenges.
"This program is a great opportunity for young people in Al Ma'afer district to obtain qualitative training, which will enable them to obtain good job opportunities and improve their livelihoods."
The General Manager of Technical Education Office and the Secretary-General of the Local Council praised the qualitative training and the role of Tamdeen Youth Foundation in caring for youth and supporting development in the district and the governorate.
