Tamdeen Youth Foundation Trains 400 Young Men and Women on Establishing and Managing SMEs
Today, Saturday, Dr. Ibrahim Al Musalami, Director of Tamdeen Youth Foundation, Taiz, together with Mr. Mohammed Ali Farea, Secretary-General of the Local Council in Al Ma'afer District, and Mr. Yassin Al Ariqi, Director of Social Affairs and Labor Office, launched a training program for 400 young men and women on establishing and managing SMES through "My First Business" and "I Own a Small Business" programs in accordance with the methodology of the International Labor Organization (ILO).
The training is part of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) "Supporting Resilient Livelihoods, Food Security, and Climate Adaptation in Yemen, Joint Programme, ERRYJP3".
Mr. Mutleq Gharsan, Project Officer, said that this program will last for 12 days. Then the trainees will move to prepare plans for establishing their SMEs and submit those plans for review. Consultations will be provided by Tamdeen Youth Foundation to enable trainees obtain financial grants that contribute to their transition to self-employment, reducing unemployment and contributing to local development and Yemen's economic recovery.
For his part, Mr. Yassin Al Ariqi, Director of Social Affairs Office, stressed the importance of qualifying youth, providing them with the necessary skills for the labor market, and enhancing their resilience to socioeconomic challenges.
"This program is a great opportunity for young people in Al Ma'afer district to obtain qualitative training, which will enable them to establish projects that meet their aspirations and improve their livelihoods."
The Director of Social Affairs and the Secretary-General of the Local Council praised the humanitarian and development role of Tamdeen Foundation and its integration with the efforts of the local authority and government agencies in rehabilitating and empowering youth and supporting development.
