Practical Training for 140 Young Men and Women in 9 Vocational Fields
In its first phases, Tamdeen Youth Foundation has launched vocational training and business skills support
in vocational fields
for 140 young men and women
In Al Ma'afer District, Taiz Governorate
This is part of "Promoting the Recovery and Resilience of Youth Project", funded by Hilton N. Conrad Foundation, and being implemented by Tamdeen Youth Foundation TYF, in partnership with the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training.
It aims to:
Empowering young people, promoting their own employment opportunities, and their productive participation in the local economic recovery.
Fields of training include:
- Vehicle Mechanics
- Men's sewing
- Women's sewing
- Cosmetology and hairdressing
- Vehicle Electricity
- Motorcycle maintenance
- Mobile Maintenance
- Installation and maintenance of solar energy
- Iron welding
In accordance with vocational disciplines, trainees were divided into three institutes: (Industrial Technical Institute in Al Heyab, Commercial Technical Institute in As Sanah, and Industrial Technical Institute in Al Khayami).
Then comes the third phase in which the trainees will go to the workplaces "workshops" to refine their skills under the supervision of craftsmen who have built their capacity in dealing with the trainees and evaluating them in the real work environment, as well as raising their awareness of occupational safety and risk prevention tools to which they may be exposed.

• Dr. Ibrahim Al Musalami, Director of Tamdeen Youth Foundation, Taiz Governorate, emphasized that the program provides these young men and women with vocational skills that enable them to have job opportunities, improve their living with their families and achieve sustainable sources of income.
• Eng. Qaid Al Selwi, Director General of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Office in Taiz Governorate, expressed his pleasure with the partnership with Tamdeen Youth Foundation in qualifying young people and providing them with the necessary skills for the labor market.
• "This program is a real opportunity for young men and women to learn vocational skills and contribute to local development." Said Mr. Mohammed Ali Farea, Secretary-General of the Local Council in Al Ma'afer District.
