UNDP Reviews "ERRY III" Projects in Al Ma'afer
Today, a team from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) visited the projects of Rural Resilience (ERRY III) in Al Ma'afer District, Taiz Governorate, which are being implemented by the Programme through Tamdeen Youth Foundation.
The team was briefed on the rehabilitation of Al Shorouq Club's sports hall in As Sana, which was carried out in partnership with the Youth and Sports Office, and with funding from UNDP.
They reviewed the magnitude of achievement in the rehabilitation of Al Nashamah Market Main Street, a vital link between Al Ma'afer district and all areas of Taiz, the Coast and Lahj.
They also met with the trainees supported by the "ERRYJP3", which trains 200 young men and women from the district to establish and manage SMEs, qualify them with the necessary skills for the labor market, and contribute to local development.
This is the outcome of the generous support from the European Union (EU) and the Government of Sweden, the successful partnership with UNDP Yemen, and the activation of participatory planning approaches with government agencies and local communities to achieve sustainable solutions.
The ERRYJP3 works to improve the Yemenis' livelihoods, enhance food security, restore community assets, and help them adapt to climate change.
