Tamdeen Youth Foundation Participates in World Climate Summit "COP28"
Tamdeen Youth Foundation, represented by its founder, Mr. Hussein Al Suhaily, and its Director - Taiz Region, Dr. Ibrahim Al Musalami, is participating in the World Climate Summit COP28 in Dubai, which is participated by more than 180 heads of state and government representatives from around the world, as well as representatives of international and regional organizations, and youth activists.
Al Suhaily said that TYF's participation in the COP28 reflects its firm commitment to promoting sustainable practices, contributing to addressing climate challenges, and helping local communities and vulnerable groups to withstand and adapt to them.
"Yemen is suffering from severe climate shocks. It is one among the countries most vulnerable to natural disasters and the negative consequences of climate change. It also suffers from a fragile situation due to the conflict, which weakened its ability to cope with such fluctuations. Thus, the Foundation's participation, together with a number of actors and representatives of civil society, is an opportunity to raise Yemen's voice and highlight the challenges that it is exposed to as a result of climate change."
The Conference of the Parties COP28 comes with increasing natural disasters such as storms, floods, fires and droughts that threaten our world today.
The Conference's two-week participants will discuss key issues at a crucial moment to accelerate the transition to clean energy and more effectively put climate change financing into action.
