Rehabilitation of Hadqat Canal in Dhi As Sufal District, Ibb Governorate
This project is one of "Strengthening Institutional and Economic Resilience Projects in Yemen", funded by the European Union in Yemen, and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP Yemen), through Tamdeen Youth Foundation (TYF), under the supervision of the Ministry of Local Administration.
Hadqat Canal suffers from damage and cracks in its walls, which hinders the drainage of rainwater, threatens the collapse of the walls, and constitutes an obstacle to the movement of residents in the area.
The Project Aims to:
• Build concrete stone walls with a length of 28 meters and a height of 1.5 to 3 meters, and connect them to previous walls to ensure structural stability.
• Remove sediment from the canal stream to drain rainwater, reduce flood risk, and improve people's mobility and access to basic services.
This Project Will Contribute to:
• Improving the mobility of local populations and access to basic services.
• Mitigating the risk of floods and protecting residents from damage.
Tamdeen Youth Foundation TYF is proud to partner with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and grateful to the European Union Mission for their support to local development in Yemen.
