Tamdeen Youth Foundation delivers the necessary assets to establish 250 small projects in Ahwar district in Abyan governorate

 

Tamdeen Youth Foundation handed over 250 young men and women in Ahwar district in Abyan governorate the necessary assets (equipment, inventory and supplies) to start their small projects that enable them to rise and prosper, and help them provide sustainable sources of income.

 

This comes days after the delivery of assets to establish small businesses for 500 young men and women in Al-Maafer district in Taiz governorate and Loder district in Abyan governorate, bringing the number of beneficiaries from the three districts to 750 men and women.

This support is part of the activities of: "Supporting Resilient Livelihoods, Food Security and Climate Resilience in Yemen (ERRYJP3).

 

The program is funded by the European Union in Yemen, the Government of Sweden, the Embassy of Sweden in Amman, and in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Yemen, and is implemented by Tamdeen Youth Foundation in Ahwar and Loder districts in Abyan governorates and in Maafer district in Taiz governorate.

 

Integrated training to ensure success:

 

Before handing over the assets, the beneficiaries received training on the entrepreneurship program and were provided with the basic skills to develop business plans, project management, and marketing to ensure the sustainability and development of their businesses.

 

 

Project diversity boosts employment opportunities

 

The projects financed by the Rural Resilience Program 3, and the delivery of assets through implementing financial partner Al Qasimi Islamic Microfinance Bank, are diverse and include:

 

Retail trade

- Production projects

- Commercial projects

- Service projects

Fruit and vegetable farms

Service shops

Beekeeping and livestock

 

Small businesses are the heart of the local economy

 

Project Manager Engineer Mutlaq Garsan emphasized: "Small businesses are the heart of the local economy, helping to reduce Yemen's high unemployment rate and provide vital services to communities."

 

Ongoing support to ensure the sustainability of the projects:

 

To ensure the success of their projects and move them towards entrepreneurship in their communities, Tamdeen Youth Foundation will provide mentoring services to the beneficiaries through a group of business mentors.
