The Director General of the Health Office in Ibb Governorate, Dr. Najib Al-Kamil, the Director General of Al-Qafr District, Salim Al-Qahif, the Director of the Health Office in Al-Qafr District, Dr. Mohammed Abadi, and the Director of Rahab Hospital, Dr. Abdu Shuaib, inaugurated the Comprehensive Obstetric Emergency Department at Rahab Rural Hospital in Al-Qafr District, with the support of the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF) and implemented by Tamdeen Youth Foundation (TYF).

This inauguration marks the culmination of a project to rehabilitate and equip the department according to the latest medical standards. The work included infrastructure renovation and equipping the department with advanced medical equipment, enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided to mothers and newborns.

Key Medical Equipment:

• Operating Room: Operating table, anesthesia machine, vital signs monitor, sterilization device, and surgical kits for cesarean, minor, and major operations.

• Intensive Care Unit: Ventilator, patient monitors, electrocardiogram (ECG) machine, and inpatient beds.

• Neonatal Incubator Room: Intravenous infusion devices.

• Laboratory: Virus and hormone testing devices, chemistry analyzer, microscope, and blood bank refrigerator.

This department represents a significant addition to healthcare services in Al-Qafr District, contributing to reducing maternal and neonatal mortality rates and improving access to safe medical care, especially amid the severe shortage of obstetric care services in Ibb Governorate.
