Tamdeen Youth Foundation Participates in the Global Localization Networks Forum
Tamdeen Youth Foundation (TYF), represented by its Executive Director Dr. Jamal Seif, participated Global Peer Learning Forum for Localisation Networks, held in Nairobi, Kenya, from September 8-11, 2025. This participation comes as part of the Foundation's efforts to advance the localization of humanitarian action in Yemen and improve humanitarian response mechanisms.
The Forum's Significance and the Role of National Networks
The forum was a unique gathering of localization networks from all over the world, with the aim of discussing challenges and opportunities related to empowering local organizations. Over four days, discussions focused on recognizing national networks as the backbone of localization, and emphasized the importance of their role in building a more inclusive, equitable, and effective aid system. Participants exchanged strategies and lessons learned from their diverse contexts, which strengthened collaboration and drove the push toward local leadership in humanitarian and development efforts.
Tamdeen Youth Foundation's Contribution: The "Sustainability of NGOs in Yemen" Study
Tamdeen Youth Foundation made a notable contribution to the forum by presenting a special study titled: "The Sustainability of NGOs in Yemen: From Dependency to Strategic Transformation," which was published in May 2025.
This study provides a comprehensive assessment of the reality facing local and national non-governmental organizations (L/NNGOs) in Yemen, and presents future visions and strategies to enhance their financial resilience and leadership autonomy. The study was adopted as one of the key learning outcomes of the meeting, as it includes indicators for measuring localization in Yemen, confirming its importance in guiding future efforts towards a more equitable humanitarian system led by local actors.
