The evening came an hour after the tent was burned in the camp of” Akamat Al Kabsh”, in Al Ta’azeyiah. The family lied on the sand and Bassem and his wife embraced their four children (Rahmah, Mohammed, Bassam and Ali), shed their tears and share the pain and sorrow, while the children stared innocently and did not know what happened to them … The tent was the bedroom, living room and kitchen which was in the cartoons that the wife used on the evening of Monday, August 31, 2020 to prepare dinner, and she turned the shelter into ashes.
The team of (Supporting the most vulnerable groups of IDPs and host communities project in Ibb, Taiz and Al-Dhalea governorates) which is being implemented by Tamdeen Youth Foundation (TYF), and funded by the UNHCR, received a report of the incident to come quickly from the team that arrived with a new camp, mattresses, blankets and kitchenware.
The tent was set up, and Bassem smiled and his children run into the new shelter to warm, play and fun, and the laughter of the little ones continues until the mother completed the preparation of dinner for everyone to sleep and wake the husband early in search of daily work in the host community, after being assured of his family says Bassem (I thank Tamdeen Youth Foundation and the UNHCR, the tent means a lot to me, my family and I experienced the bitterness of displacement and lost everything, and getting a new tent, mattresses and blankets was a difficult dream for me).
“I hope that the war will end, we feel permanently safe and peace will prevail in Yemen,” he concludes.
