Ibb University Hosts the Celebration of Tamdeen Youth Foundation’s Tenth Anniversary
Today at Ibb University, Tamdeen Youth Foundation organized a special celebration on the occasion of its tenth anniversary in the presence of the Head of the University, its Deputies, and its Secretary General, and members of TYF's Board of Trustees, Dr. Ali Al Buraihi, Dr. Najiba Al Mahdi, and its consultant Dr. Abdul Karim Qassim, and First Undersecretary of Ibb Governorate Sheikh Abdul Hamid Al Shaheri, its Undersecretary Mr. Qassim Al Musawa, its Assistant Undersecretary Sheikh Fouad Yahya Mansour, a number of general managers of the executive offices in Ibb and Taiz governorates, Head of Yemeni Women's Union in Ibb, representatives of civil society, representatives from the World Food Programme (WFP), UNHCR, International Migration Organizations, Save the Children, Oxfam and Care, as well as community, women and youth leaders.
At the celebration, Mr. Abdul Hamid Al Shaheri, praised the humanitarian and developmental role played by Tamdeen Youth Foundation and its effective contribution to meeting the needs of IDPs since 2015, and implementing quality projects transparently and efficiently.
"I thank Tamdeen Youth Foundation's role and efforts within the framework of the governorate through permanent coordination with local and disciplinary authorities in delivering its interventions." Al Shaheri said
He affirmed that all facilities are provided to TYF to enable it to implement its humanitarian and development projects in the highest quality.
Prof. Naser Al Hujaili, Head of Ibb University, stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination with civil society organizations in order to create a partnership based on real institutional foundations that help to understand the various challenges facing local communities and develop comprehensive and sustainable solutions.
Bassam Al Hakeemi, CARE, praised the important role played by local organizations in the humanitarian response in Yemen, notably Tamdeen Youth Foundation, which has proven its ability to provide humanitarian aid in line with international standards.
Then Ms. Hayat Al Kena'ey, Head of Yemeni Women's Union - Ibb, congratulated Tamdeen Youth Foundation on celebrating its tenth anniversary, explaining that the Union and the Foundation have a successful partnership in meeting the needs of displaced women and girls, and providing them with protection and safe shelter.
She called for concerted efforts to support and empower women to to be self-reliant in facing difficulties and challenges, and to enhance their role in building and development.
Eng. Abdullah Obadi, Director of TYF - Ibb, gave a welcoming speech in which he expressed thanks, appreciation and gratitude to the leaders of the local authority, the executive offices, the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, directors of districts, and all partners and donors with whom TYF integrates in humanitarian and development action.
"Tamdeen Youth Foundation celebrates its tenth anniversary, having a successive achievements during a decade in a difficult working environment. It has made a prominent impact on humanitarian and development action in Yemen, and has become effective in the civil society system."
"We have worked in the humanitarian response, provided shelter, coordinated and managed camps for IDPs. We restarted tens of health facilities that were interrupted by the war. We have provided monthly food rations to tens of thousands of families most in need. We delivered aid to civilians near the lines of fire. We implemented water projects in remote villages and built schools for children in remote and deprived areas." he added
Obadi stressed that TYF will continue to work in the same determination and dedication to achieve further successes and achievements in the future.
On the occasion, TYF's Chairman, Eng. Badr Addin Al Fahd, saluted all workers, employees and volunteers for their sincere efforts in meeting the needs of local communities and vulnerable groups and contributing to sustainable development.
"TYF has begun preparations for the implementation of major economic development and restoration project in eight districts in Ibb and Taiz governorates, funded by the European Union and in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme."
"We at TYF rely on this project to improve the lives of many citizens. We are confident in the support of the leadership of Taiz and Ibb governorates and the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation to implement this project in a way that achieves the general interest of the population in the targeted districts, and enhances the role of the local authority and executive offices in restoring services and contributing to achieving sustainable development." he explained
Mr. Hussein Al Suhaily, Founder of Tamdeen Youth Foundation, reviewed in his speech the most prominent challenges and achievements in TYF's work over the past ten years.
"Since 2015 until today, Tamdeen Youth Foundation has provided the largest share of its projects and services in Ibb and Taiz governorates in the fields of food, health, education, shelter and improving livelihoods, as these two governorates are the most in need, in the number of IDPs, and in population density."
He pointed out that Ibb is the great starting point for Tamdeen Youth Foundation's work in responding to the humanitarian needs of the IDPs and the host community.
"TYF faced many challenges and difficulties. However, with the hard work and joint cooperation, it was able to achieve tangible achievements in various fields, which we celebrate today. We are proud of TYF's successes. This celebration is a motivation for us to continue working hard and sincerely to improve people's lives and advance society."
