Project summary:
The project enhances the population's ability to access food and improve livelihoods through the construction/maintenance of three community assets, and the construction of a water channel in the targeted areas of Maqbanah district, within Cash-for-Work Program to achieve sustainable food security. The project also implements a vocational training program in (dairy production, sewing and embroidery, beekeeping).
Project outcomes:
Rebuilding Community Assets
- Building a 215-meter channel, to irrigate 17,670 agricultural acres.
- Paving Al Orf road (500 meters) in Al Habebah sub-district.
- Paving Al Zara'eb road (413 meters) in Al Wareef sub-district.
- Distributing conditional cash assistance (cash-for-work) for 400 beneficiaries.
Vocational training and capacity-building
- Dairy production 128 beneficiaries.
- Sewing and Embroidery 54 beneficiaries.
- Beekeeping 18 beneficiaries.
- Financial grants to establish SMEs 175 beneficiaries.
