Project Summary:
Improving food securtiy and livelihoods of the most vulnerable families through field schools, where beneficiaries recieved training in farming methods anddeveloping agriculture production for the grain and vegetable value chain. Irregation systems, vegetable seeds and nurseries were distributed to some farmers. Moreover, the project trained 20 women in ways to make, package and sell tomato paste.
Overall Objective:
Improving food security and livelihoods of the most vulnerable families.
Outputs:
- Establishing 6 field schools in the targeted districts.
- Training 460 farmers on innovative and sustainable farming methods.
- Training 120 farmers in horticulture and installation of distillation irrigation systems.
- Establishing a vegetable seedling production nursery, and training 20 farmers on how to manage it.
- Training 20 women in vegetable processing, packaging and marketing.
